Janet set up Flynn Fine Art soon after finishing her creative training. FFA worked with Theatre and Arts organisations as well as Universities, Local Authorities, Prisons and Hospitals. Her roles within these organisations was to facilitate the delivery of arts related projects. The company ran successfully for nearly thirty years providing support for private individuals in the creation of exhibitions as well as local arts groups. During her career Janet continued her own practice as an artist, illustrator, ceramics and print making. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally. Janet is a respected and well-known figure in the arts community of Northern England. In 2019 she moved with her husband to Syros in Greece to concentrate on her painting.

I am an artist from the UK currently living in Finikas Syros and can be found painting in my studio or renovating found objects and traditional furniture.

Having visited the Island for many years and enjoying the light, the people and the ever changing landscape, I decided to live here permanently in 2019.

I work mainly in oils with some acrylic, collage and watercolour pieces. My themes are often based in the landscape through on site sketching and then extracting the most interesting elements of light, colour and mark making in order to abstract, what to me is the essential vibration or feelings of the place or the people.

I facilitate painting and life drawing sessions when the weather permits and the opportunity arises and I am a member of the Syros Sirens writing Group.
